This rustic organic farmstead in the wooded hills of Chianti offers the true feeling of an unpolished Tuscan agriturismo: warm, authentic and rooted in its surroundings. A little wild, a little improvised, generous in spirit, and quietly working towards another way of living in the countryside.

At the heart of Reggioli is a restored 18th-century stone farmhouse with views reaching across Val d’Orcia towards Monte Amiata and Radicofani. The farmhouse has been restored with respect for traditional materials and rural architecture, while gently adapting to present-day needs through ecological building principles.

The wider project is more than accommodation. Reggioli is slowly growing towards the vision of a 126-hectare ecovillage: a place where food, land, hospitality, craft, education and community life can be brought back into relationship.

It is a working rural place, alive with experiments in self-sufficiency, shared meals, ecological restoration and cultural richness.

The place is strongly expressed through their food!
Reggioli’s kitchen is organic and mainly vegetarian or vegan, with a rich breakfast made from farm and local produce. Lunch and dinner are available by reservation, often shaped around rural recipes, seasonal vegetables, salads, legumes, herbs, fruit and the shared abundance of the garden and surrounding farms.

Interested guests may also take part in small moments of preparation, such as picking and collecting herbs and harvests

The apartments are an extension of the same feeling. Authentically rural and spacious. Whether you come by yourself, as a couple, multiple families, or groups who are looking for warm simplicity rather than luxury. Expect thick stone walls, practical kitchens, filled with textures and materials that give a close connection.

Know that families are very welcome here. Reggioli has space, animals, large lawns, toys, books, a playroom, a trampoline, and excursions with horses and donkeys.

Cestaio: The Basket Maker’s Family Apartment

This is Reggioli’s largest apartment, Cestaio, a rustic 111 m² stay for up to six guests, reached by an independent first-floor entrance with an external staircase and comes with a balcony.

Inside, the apartment centres around a generous eat-in kitchen and dining room, with four induction hobs, a wood-burning stove, kettle, moka coffee maker, fridge/freezer and a large table. There are two bedrooms: one with a double and single bed, and one with two single beds. Each bedroom has its own bathroom.

Reggioli is an agriturismo, but it is also a long-term experiment in rural regeneration. The ambition is to grow into an intentional ecovillage: a place where food, energy, land, craft, education, hospitality and community life are slowly brought back into relationship.

The farm’s own philosophy is refreshingly humble. Rather than trying to impose a perfect model onto the land, Reggioli speaks of observing wild nature and learning from the way plants, animals and living systems organise themselves. The aim is to create a farm system that can increasingly feed itself, support the people who live and work there, and share both the work and the fruits of that work with guests, volunteers and neighbours.

That work is practical. Olives are harvested by hand with volunteers and visitors. Chestnut groves are being brought back into care after years of abandonment. Vegetables, fruits, herbs, mushrooms, bread, preserves and olive oil feed the kitchen and the small farm shop. The restaurant follows an organic, largely vegetarian and vegan approach, using produce from the farm and nearby farms.

But the project is social as much as ecological. Reggioli hosts courses, circles, craft workshops, permaculture trainings, olive pruning, wild food learning, yoga, ecological communication and other forms of shared practice. The place attracts families, volunteers, teachers, makers, farmers, seekers and people testing another rhythm of life.
